JAMMU, May 4: To discuss arrangements in wake of forthcoming Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela, a delegation comprising members of Mata Kheer Bhawani Ji Yatra Welfare Society (MKBJYWS) called on Relief Commissioner, here today.
The delegation was led by its convener, Kiran Wattal.
A threadbare discussion organized as regards the conduct of Zesht Ashtami festival at Kheer Bhawani, Tulmulla, Manzgam, Khanbarni Devsar, Tikker and Logripora.
MKBJYWS was assured that all arrangements would be put in place for the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of the Goddess at Tulmulla in Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir.
They also took note of arrangement of buses for the journey of devotees besides assessing the condition of road leading to the Shrine, accommodation for night stay and provision of essential supplies to be made for smooth conduct of Mata Kheer Bhawani Mela this year.
Later speaking to media persons, Wattal said, “Pilgrimage to Tulmulla has registered a phenomenal growth under the administration of LG Manoj Sinha and hoped that the administration would put in its best efforts to make the yatra a memorable experience for the devotees who visit the shrine across the country and abroad.”
He said that community was highly thankful for the security arrangements which police had made for the safety of pilgrims enroute the yatra and at the temple last year.
“The community highly appreciated the cooperation extended by the Director Tourism, Kashmir and role played by his department to the pilgrimage,” he said.
“It was virtually not possible for us to give final shape to our pilgrimage plans without the active support of Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir,” he added.
