Mission Shakti SWD inaugurates 5 days Civil Defence Training

JAMMU, June 24: Mission Shakti District Hub for the Empowerment of Women Jammu Social Welfare Department today inaugurated five days Civil Defence Training Program at Palash and Parisha, R.S. Pura, aimed at empowering community members with essential knowledge and skills in emergency response and personal safety.The training will be imparted by expert trainers from Regional Civil Defence Control Centre Jammu .
The training witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, staff and children of Palash & Parisha , reflecting the community awareness about disaster preparedness and civil safety. Zi ul Haq Deputy Controller CD Jammu Parmjit Kumar Chief Warden CD Jammu, R. Vijay Magotra Deputy Chief Warden CD Jammu and expert trainers from the Civil Defence Department conducted hands-on sessions focusing on basic first aid, fire safety, evacuation drills, and methods to assist during natural or man-made emergencies.
The training is part of Mission Shakti DHEW Jammu’s ongoing efforts to build self-reliant and resilient communities, especially in border and rural areas. Speaking at the event, the officials emphasized the importance of such initiatives in enhancing public readiness and fostering a spirit of volunteerism.
“This program not only equips individuals with life-saving skills but also instills confidence and community spirit. We aim to continue such outreach activities across more regions,” said Sunil Choudhary, an official of Mission Shakti DHEW Jammu.
Others present were officals of Mission Shakti DHEW Jammu and Superintendent of Palash Gourav Gupta and Superintendent Parisha Muskaan.
