Jammu, June 13: In a concerted effort to promote mental well-being at the grassroots level, Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women Social Welfare Department Jammu, in collaboration with Mission Poshan, organized a comprehensive awareness session on mental health at the Child Development Project Office R.S. Pura.
The session aimed to sensitize frontline workers, community members, and beneficiaries of Government schemes about the importance of mental health, early identification of symptoms, and available support systems. The session was delivered by Dr Ambica, Professor of Psychology. The event was part of a broader initiative to integrate mental health awareness into community health and nutrition outreach programs under Mission Shakti and Mission Poshan.
District Mission Coordinator Mission Shakti Shagun Manchanda interacted with Anganwadi workers and local women on breaking stigma surrounding mental health.She emphasized the critical need to address mental health issues at the community level, particularly among women and children, and acknowledged the collaborative efforts between Mission Shakti and Mission Poshan as a step toward a more holistic approach to public health.
