JAMMU, Aug 7: Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women Jammu in collaboration with the JKRLM, organised an impactful awareness session on gender sensitisation, financial literacy and women-centric Government schemes for Self Help Group (SHG) members in village Khandwal, Satwari.
Sonali Rana, Gender Specialist, Mission Shakti, addressed the gathering on the topic of gender sensitisation, emphasizing the need for equality, dignity and active participation of women in all spheres of life.
Sunil Choudhary, Specialist in Financial Literacy, sensitised participants about women-centric financial schemes, banking procedures and how SHG members can utilize various Government initiatives for economic empowerment and entrepreneurship.
The programme was organised under the supervision of District Mission Coordinator Mission Shakti Shagun Manchanda and coordinated with the support of BPM Neha Dubey from JKRLM. Other resource persons who participated and shared their expertise included Dharampal Singh, Agriculture Extension Officer, Phallian Mandal, who spoke about various agricultural schemes and training opportunities available for SHG members.
Dheeraj Sharma, Branch Manager, J&K Bank, SKUAST Satwari, guided participants on banking services and financial schemes under Mission YUVA. Arun and Sehrish, Panchayat Account Assistants (Yuva Doots) from Phallian Mandal, provided key information about youth-led Government schemes, rural digital initiatives and financial inclusion programs for women.
