JAMMU, Sept 10: Mission Shakti, District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), Social Welfare Department organised an awareness session on anemia for Self-Help Group (SHG) members and local women in Village Bhatiyari, Bishnah.
The initiative aimed to educate participants about the causes, symptoms, and prevention of anemia-a persistent health concern among women.
The session was led by Dr. Arushi Mahajan, Medical Officer (Ayush Department) who sensitized the attendees about health issues related to anemia and underlined the importance of early detection and proper nutrition. She encouraged the women to maintain a balanced diet and undergo regular health check-ups as preventive measures.
Shagun Manchanda, District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti, also interacted with the women, highlighting the importance of maintaining both physical and mental well-being. She informed them about various women-centric Government schemes and services, encouraging participants to avail themselves of these opportunities for their holistic empowerment.
Financial Literacy Specialist, Sunil Choudhary, DHEW Jammu, conducted an insightful session on financial literacy. He emphasized the significance of savings, budgeting, and access to financial services as key tools for women’s economic empowerment.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by the Block Programme Manager, who appreciated the efforts of Mission Shakti for organizing such meaningful and impactful sessions.
