JAMMU, Nov 26: Mission Shakti Jammu, Social Welfare Department, in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital and District Police Jammu, organised a free health check-up camp for Women Police Officials at District Police Line, Jammu.
The camp was inaugurated by SSP Jammu, Joginder Singh, who appreciated the joint efforts of Mission Shakti and SMVD Narayana Hospital for delivering essential healthcare services directly to women in uniform. He praised the initiative for its focus on preventive healthcare and for supporting women police personnel who handle demanding duties round the clock.
A team of specialist doctors from SMVD Narayana Superspeciality Hospital included Dr. Geetu Mahajan, Associate Professor, Gynaecology.Dr. Parul Gohil, Consultant, Anaesthesia & Pain Management.Dr. Malvika Sharma, Assistant Professor, Ophthalmology conducted on-the-spot diagnostic screenings, physiological assessments, and personalised consultations. The team also provided guidance on women’s health, stress management, nutrition, lifestyle diseases, and occupational well-being. Routine tests, including BP and blood sugar checks, were carried out for all participants.
District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti Jammu,Shagun Manchanda highlighted that women police personnel shoulder multiple professional and domestic responsibilities, making regular health monitoring crucial. She noted that the camp was designed not only to address immediate health needs but also to strengthen the culture of preventive and holistic healthcare.
