JAMMU, Apr 10: Mission Shakti District Hub for Empowerment of Women, Jammu, Department of Social Welfare in collaboration with Government Degree College Bishnah, successfully organized a two-day self-defense training workshop for girl students of GDC Bishnah.
The initiative aimed to equip participants with essential self-defense skills while promoting awareness about personal safety and building confidence.
Expert trainers Neha Jaral and Nikhil Jaral conducted engaging practical sessions, demonstrating basic techniques and guiding students on how to respond effectively in challenging situations.
Principal GDC Bishnah, Dr. Shallu Sambyal, addressed the gathering and motivated students to actively participate, emphasizing the growing importance of self-defense in today’s scenario. She also appreciated Mission Shakti for undertaking such a meaningful initiative.
District Mission Coordinator, Mission Shakti, Shagun Manchanda, sensitized participants about various welfare schemes for women and girls and highlighted the importance of learning self-defense skills for personal safety and empowerment.
The workshop was smoothly coordinated by Dr. Geeta Lakhotra, NSS Programme Officer, Prof Nisha & Dr Ranjeeta Langeh .Others present were staff of the college,Khushboo Kapte and Deepika Arora from Mission Shakti.
