Srinagar, Mar 26: Police in Kulgam today solved the case of a missing 15-year-old girl within hours by recovering her and her abductor, who is also a minor, in Shopian.
Authorities said that the Keegam Police Post received a missing complaint from Shabir Ahmad Rather, a resident of Haji Check, regarding his 15-year-old daughter, who had been missing since 11 am yesterday.
Acting swiftly, officials launched a search operation, police said.
“During the investigation, credible information was received indicating the girl’s presence in Yaripora, Kulgam. Acting on this lead, a police team was deputed to the location,” police said.
Following a meticulous search, police said, the missing girl was successfully recovered from Yaripora, Kulgam, with a 16-year-old boy (name withheld), resident of Tarigam, Kulgam.
A case FIR No. 60/2025 under Section 137(2) has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
