JAMMU, Dec 30: The body of a man who had been reported missing earlier this month was recovered today from a forested area near Qasim Nagar, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bagh-e-Bahu.
The deceased has been identified as Sonu, aged around 40-42 years, a native of Punjab who was presently residing in the Marh area. A missing report in this connection had been registered at Police Station Domana on December 11.
Police said the body was in a partially decomposed condition. It was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where postmortem formalities were conducted. After completion of the medico-legal procedure, the body was handed over to the legal heirs for last rites.
The police have taken cognizance of the matter and further investigation is underway.
