JAMMU, June 29: The dead body of a child of age about 5-6 years was recovered today from a canal in Bishnah area on city outskirts.
According to a police official, the deceased has been identified as Anand son of Dev Nath, resident of Chattisgarh (at present Sikanderpur, Bishnah in Jammu). He said that the boy was missing from his present residence since June 24.
“His body was recovered today from a canal near Hamir Nagar in Dabbar area,” the official said, adding after getting conducted postmortem at Sub District Hospital Bishnah, the body was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites while inquest proceeding under 174 CrPC was initiated in this connection at police station Bishnah.
