VERINAG, Nov 3: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader and AICC General Secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir today directed the administration to identify & ensure timely resolution of public issues and other development needs.
“Development of people is paramount, so there should be no delay in addressing these, on priority basis, given the fact, people in both the regions have not witnessed any positive approach towards their wellbeing and development on the part of the BJP Govt at Centre,” he said, while addressing an impressive meeting of party delegates at Omoh in Verinag area of South Kashmir.
The CLP leader rued that there have been numerous tall claims with respect to employment generation, completion of projects, development of lanes and drains, roads etc especially during B2Vs and various other developmental initiatives, but the reality is that both the regions of J&K have equally suffered on every count. He urged upon the participants to fortify their efforts to ensure redressal of public issues and bring the party policies and programmes at grass roots level.
Pointing out that J&K was witnessing difficult situation in absence of the popular Govt, besides people had to face tremendous hardships, on every count, Mir said that the elected Govt is now in place, so there are high expectations among the public that they will get the justice, without any delay. For that matter, he added, administration needs to act swiftly and reach out to public to ensure them relief & respite.
“Development of common people is paramount, there should be no compromise on that. Congress Party is committed to fight for the wellbeing of public and protection of their rights, which have been assaulted from time to time by the BJP Govt at Centre,” said the Congress leader.
Mir stressed that the Central Govt should extend every cooperation to J&K Govt and facilitate it on every count, so that the process of development in J&K is back on the track. He also laid emphasis for taking immediate and urgent measures to restore Statehood to J&K as promised on the floor of the Parliament by the Prime Minister and Home Minister, repeatedly.
