JAMMU, Aug 23: Casual approach to check the selling of dreaded nylon thread has led to the death of a minor boy here.
As per police sources, a 6-year-old boy namely Dhruv Sharma, son of Deepak Sharma, a resident of Sarwal was coming back to his home with his parents from Phallian Mandal when his throat got slit due to dreaded nylon thread on flyover near Bus Stand.
The profusely bleeding minor was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) where he failed to respond to the treatment and breathed his last early morning today.
The body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
Bus Stand Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
Meanwhile, the relatives of the victim alleged that casual approach of the police and the district administration to check the sale of the banned nylon thread has killed the minor.
“Nylon thread should be banned completely and the persons involved in selling the same should be booked”, they said.
