RAMBAN, Sept 7: Banihal police rescued a minor girl and arrested a kidnapper within 24 hours.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by the father of girl with police station Banihal stating that her 15-year-old daughter had gone to wash clothes and did not turned back home.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 145/17 under Section 363 RPC was registered and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, it came to fore that the girl has been kidnapped by Shabir Ahmed, son of Ghulam Sheikh of Kutjee Teh Kahrie.
After hectic efforts, the girl was traced out and the accused was arrested within 24 hours of commission of crime by Banihal police.
The girl has been handed over to legal heirs after completion of legal formalities.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Wani traced out the minor girl and arrested the accused under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Dheeraj Singh Katoch, Additional SP Ramban Mushtaq Chowdhary and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
