Srinagar, May 18: A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said today.
Officials said that they spotted a girl along with two boys in a railway hut when they were conducting routine track clearance.
While investigating the matter, the girl, whose name has been withheld, alleged that she was kidnapped by the boys when she was on her way to her home on Tuesday.
Officials added that the minor alleged that two youths namely Danish Ahmad Rather son of Basheer Ahmad Rather and Mukhtar Ahmad Rather son of Mohammad Shafi Rather both residents of Hassanpora Tavela kidnapped her.
“A case in this regard has been registered and further investigations have been taken up,” officials said.
Meanwhile, the girl has been handed over to the family after medico-legal examination while as accused are under custody in Police station Wanpoh.
