Minor girl goes missing, family blames police of inaction

UDHAMPUR, Dec 23: Family of a minor girl, who went missing from her residence in Bindla area here on October 27, and is believed to be kidnapped by a 21-year-old youth from Ser Manjhla area of Ghordi, has blamed police of inaction in tracing their daughter.
Sudesh Kumar, father of 10th standard student, Preeti Devi, 16, who went missing on October 27, claimed 56 days have passed since his minor daughter was kidnapped by one Rinku Sharma (21) of Ser Manjla, Ghordi, police have not arrested the accused yet.
According to him, police, following a routine, call the accused’s father to the Police Post Ghordi early morning daily and leave him by evening.
“This is not going to help the police in tracing my daughter,” he said.
Incharge Police Post Ghordi, PSI Vikram Quanth, however, refuted the allegations of the family.
According to him, it was only after police’s efforts that the family of the missing girl got to know that she was kidnapped.
“And our team has been making all out efforts to arrest the accused. But since he has gone into hidings by discarding his mobile phones, the arrest is getting delayed. We are still confident that we will arrest the kidnapper soon and recover the missing girl,” assured the Incharge Police Post Ghordi.
