RAMBAN, Apr 2: A teenage girl was found hanging from a tree under mysterious circumstances in Haroog village of Dharamkund area here today.
The deceased has been identified as Ruksana Banoo, 13, daughter of Mohd Qasim, resident of Telli Harog.

According to family members, she had gone out during the day to graze sheep and goats but failed to return home after which the family members launched a search.
Later in the evening, her body was found hanging from a tree near her house and the family immediately informed the Police.
Acting on the information, cops from Police Station Dharamkund rushed to the spot. Forensic experts also examined the scene and collected evidence.
The body was shifted to District Hospital Ramban, where a post-mortem was conducted by a board of doctors. After completion of all legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites.
Police sources said that inquest proceedings under Section 194 of BNSS have been initiated.
Meanwhile, family members have alleged foul play and demanded a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.
Police said that investigation in the case was underway.
Additional SP Mujeeb Ur Rehman visited the District Hospital Ramban and assured the bereaved family of through investigation.
SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta was personally supervising the investigations.
