MENDHAR, Oct 31: A minor boy was killed after he was hit by a car on the road at Mendhar while a youth was seriously injured when a truck and Alto car met with an accident in Bhimber Gali area of Mendhar Sub Division in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that the accident took place on Jammu- Poonch National Highway near Bhimber Gali when the truck loaded with apple boxes fell over a car along the road after collision.
The injured identified as Mohammd Yousuf (30), son of Mohammed Sharief, resident of Mankote was shifted to Govt Medical Collage, Rajouri.
Police Post Incharge Bhimber Gali, PSI Sushil Rana and army personnel reached the spot and rescued the driver trapped in the car. There were four people in the car, out of which three are safe, Police said.
Meanwhile, 7-year-old Afrid Khan, son of Modh Zameer Khan, resident of Kottan village was seriously injured after he was hit by an unknown car at Sangala Chowk in Mendhar. The boy was rushed to SDH Mendhar from where he was referred to GMC Rajouri, however, he passed away on the way. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
