JAMMU, Aug 22: Minister for School Education, Higher Education, Social Welfare and Health and Medical Education, Sakina Itoo will chair a meeting on August 26, 2025 at Srinagar to discuss various issues pertaining to School Education Department of districts Rajouri and Poonch.

Sources informed that MLAs of districts Rajouri and Poonch along with Director School Education, Jammu and Chief Education Officers of Rajouri and Poonch will attend the meeting while ZEOs of districts Rajouri and Poonch will attend the same through virtual mode.
Meanwhile, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Poonch on Friday constituted a Committee of seven Principals to verify the genuineness of recent transfers.
An order in this regard by the CEO Poonch stated that as desired by the higher authorities vide communication number DSEJ/NG/Tr/43903-19 dated 21-08-2025, a Committee has been constituted to verify the genuineness of representations of teachers vide Order number 01-CEOP of 2025 dated 18-08-2025 under ATD-2025 who have submitted requests for modification/transfer.
The Principals in the Committee are Principal HSS Harni, Principal Dhargloon Mendhar, Principal HSS Boys Mandi, Principal MHSS Girls Poonch, Principal HSS Baffliaz, Principal HSS Salwah and Principal MHSS Sawjian.
It is pertinent to mention here that in a post on X, Minister for Jal Shakti Department and MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana drew attention towards the alleged irregularities in transfers of teachers in district Poonch and sought intervention of Education Minister Sakina Itoo to review the process.
