JAMMU, Nov 5: A delegation of migrant doctors from Delhi comprising of Dr. Romesh Raina, Dr Varun Raina, Dr Romilla Darbari, Dr Omesh Moza and Dr Ramesh Kitchloo called on Secretary to Government, Medical Education and Health Department, M K Dwivedi, here in his office chambers today and discussed the issue of migrant doctors and para medical staff putting up at Delhi with him.
Vijay Bakaya, Member Legislative Council and Ex- Chief Secretary was also present in the meeting to plead the cause of the aggrieved migrant Doctors and Paramedical staff.
Major issues like another displacement after gap of 22 years, disturbance in the educational career of the children by dislocating them in the mid session of their studies, care of aged and infirm parents, search for new accommodation at Jammu, seniority issues, shortly retiring doctors/paramedical staff and other connected issues came up for discussion during the meeting.
The delegation said that the Government should address the problems of displaced doctors and paramedical staff putting up at Delhi.
Mr Dwivedi assured the delegation that their genuine concerns would be addressed and he further added that in the first instance the Government may consider suitable extension in the date of joining. Soon after the meeting was over the team of Doctors led by Dr Romesh Raina told this reporter that the meeting with the Secretary to Government was very fruitful and they were hopeful of a positive response from the Government.
