JAMMU, Dec 9: The Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) hosted the 3rd International Conference on Next-Generation Computing and Information Systems (ICNGCIS 2025). Prof. Ankur Gupta, Director MIET, delivered the welcome address, describing the event as a milestone in advancing the computer science research ecosystem in J&K. The conference received 137 submissions, of which 30 were accepted after rigorous peer review. The proceedings will be published by CRC Press, Taylor & Francis, and indexed in Scopus.
Five globally renowned professors from the USA delivered keynote lectures. Prof Sartaj Sahni (University of Florida) spoke on Record Linkage and advanced similarity algorithms. Prof Kannappan Palaniappan (University of Missouri-Columbia) addressed Multi object tracking and its applications. Prof. Srinivasa Narasimhan (Carnegie Mellon University) presented breakthroughs in computational cameras. Prof Sitharama Iyengar (Florida International University) discussed AI-driven innovation using Python, while Dr Gunasekaran Seetharaman (University of Missouri-Columbia & USNRLC) delivered insights on Edge AI architectures.
The two-day event featured poster exhibitions and four technical sessions with authors from over 30 universities worldwide. Delegates from IIT Jammu, SMVDU, BGSBU, University of Jammu, Central University of Jammu and other premier institutions participated, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the region.
