During the second day of his visit, Mian Altaf interacted with residents whose homes were damaged and lives disrupted due to the hostilities. He expressed grief over the tragic loss of innocent lives and the injuries sustained by many in the shelling incidents. Several families, he noted, have been rendered homeless.
The MP visited the Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri to inquire about the condition of the injured and urged hospital authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for all victims. He also visited the relief camp in Nowshera to meet the displaced families and listen to their concerns.
Calling for urgent Government intervention, Mian Altaf demanded immediate relief, rehabilitation, and adequate compensation for the affected. He emphasized the need for providing Government jobs under SRO provisions to the next of kin of those killed in the shelling.
“On the second day of my visit, I met shelling-affected families in Rajouri, visited the relief camp at Nowshera, and inquired about the injured at GMC Rajouri. Immediate relief and rehabilitation of affected families should be the Government’s priority. Ceasefire has brought relief to the people here,” he stated. Locals also raised the demand for construction of protective bunkers in vulnerable areas. Mian Altaf assured them that he would take up the issue with the authorities and personally push for its implementation.
