JAMMU, Jan 16: The Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr Ajay Shanker Singh, today virtually inaugurated the offices of Controller of Accounts, Deputy Controller of Accounts and Pay and Accounts Office of the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department in Jammu under the Departmental Accounting Organisation of the MHA.
The offices, which have been operational since September 2024, mark a formal step towards strengthening the accounting setup of the Ministry in the Union Territory.
The virtual event was attended by senior accounting officers of the MHA, while the programme in Jammu was hosted by the local Controller and Deputy Controller of Accounts along with officers and staff from various PAOs, RPAOs and internal audit parties.
The new offices are expected to improve financial management, ensure timely accounting and payments, and enhance oversight of funds in Jammu and Kashmir.
The inauguration was followed by a review meeting chaired by the Controller of Accounts, J&K Home, with PAOs, RPAOs and internal audit units functioning in the Union Territory.
