JAMMU, Nov 30: Under a CSR initiative Manpower Group India (MGI), in collaboration with the Blind Vision Foundation, distributed Smart Vision Glasses (SVG) to the students of Louis Braille Memorial Residential School for sightless girls, here today.
The SVG is an advanced assistive device that helps students with low vision or near-blindness read printed text, recognise faces and objects and navigate independently.
The event was led by Sandeep Gulati, Managing Director, India & Middle East, as the chief guest, in presence of Ratish Kumar, Chief Financial Officer and Avneesh Makkar, Chief Strategy Officer of MGI.
Speaking on the occasion, Sandeep Gulati said, “True inclusion begins with access to tools, education and opportunities. Smart Vision technology gives these students a chance to learn and navigate the world with greater autonomy. MGI group is committed to expand such impact-driven initiatives across India.”
The programme also featured a welcome song, cultural performances and heartfelt testimonials from the beneficiaries.
Dignitaries, school faculty, volunteers and partner teams participated in the ceremonial distribution of the glasses, capturing moments of joy through individual and group photographs.
Aligned with MGI’s global ESG priorities, particularly its People & Prosperity pillar, the initiative reinforces the company’s dedication to accessibility, employability and community development through technology-led empowerment.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the school administration.
