RAJOURI, Dec 23: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Rajouri, Saugat Biswas today reviewed performance of Rural Development sector in which a comprehensive review of the physical and financial achievements under flagship programmes viz MG-NREGA, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan and Indira Awas Yojana was made.
District Programmer Coord-inator, MG-NREGA, Assistant Commissioner, Development, Additional District Programme Coordinator, District Panchayat Officer, Executive Engineer (REW), Programme Officers, Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Village Level Workers (VLWs) of all the Blocks apprised the DDC about the overall performance under MG-NREGA during the current financial year.
The DDC issued directions to each BDO to ensure that the works be completed at the earliest and completion reports of all projects be prepared. He directed the BDOs to carry out 100 percent inspections and the Assistant Commissioner, Development, to carry out 20 percent, as per MGNREGA guidelines.
While reviewing IAY, Biswas noted that against a target of 1032 houses only 161 have been completed and exhorted the concerned to gear up completion of houses.
The DDC impressed upon the field officers to ensure wide publicity of flagship programmes in field and prepare an advance IEC plan. While reviewing the progress of Apna Panchayat Ghars, the DDC impressed upon the officers to ensure that Panchayat Ghars as per the target are completed by end of the current financial year.
