MUMBAI: German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India today launched its new compact luxury model A-Class, starting at Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
The new A180 Sport is the 15th model launched by the company as part of its strategy to close the year with a record volume of over 13,000 units.
Mercedes India managing director and chief executive Roland Folger, who assumed office only in October, said the 1.6 litre 4-cylinder petrol model (A180 Sport) will come at Rs 24.95 lakh and the 2.2 litre 4-cylinder diesel (A 200 CDI) at Rs 25.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).
“The A-Class pioneered the compact luxury segment here and with the new A-Class we have just raised the benchmark.
“We are confident that the new A-Class will continue to remain on top of customers’ preference as it offers an unmatched package comprising dynamic sporty design, high grade selections of equipment, class leading performance, world-class infotainment system and uncompromised safety features,” Folger said at the car launch.
Mercedes leads the market in volume and marks fulfilling the commitment of launching 15 new products this year. (AGENCIES)
