NEW DELHI, May 14: Continuing a rising streak, mentha oil prices rose further by Rs 11.40 to Rs 920.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in enlarging positions, tracking a firming trend at spot market on strong industrial demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June gained Rs 11.40, or 1.25 per cent, to Rs 920.30 per kg, with a trading volume of 174 lots.
The prices for delivery in May edged up by Rs 10.70, or 1.17 per cent, to Rs 923.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 615 lots.
Marketmen said a firming trend at the spot markets amid restricted supplies from producing regions, mainly influenced mentha oil prices at futures trade here.
Besides, tight supplies in the physical market following less arrivals from the growing areas of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh. (PTI)
