TRAL, Apr 8: NC-Congress coalition candidate and sitting NC MP, Dr Mehboob Beg today addressed people at various places in Tral during a joint NC-Congress road-show.
Raising slogans in four of the NC-Congress coalition, workers of both the parties as well as scores of people participated in the road show.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mehboob Beg highlighted achievements of the Omar Abdullah led NC-Congress Coalition Government and asked the people to vote for development, secularism and dignity. He alleged that PDP believes in the politics of instability and disruption, as they proved in 2008.
Dr Mehboob Beg said that National Conference leaders had done justice to the trust reposed in them by the people by being strong and courageous voices of representation in the Indian Parliament. It was NC leaders who as Members of Parliament spoke for the people of their State, unlike Mehbooba Mufti whose performance as a Member of Parliament was conspicuous by her refusal to speak for her people, he alleged.
Dr Mehboob Beg asked PDP to explain its silence over killings that took place in Mufti Sayeed’s hometown of Bijbehara when a group of Namazis were brutally massacred as well as the bloodshed caused on the roads of Kashmir under Mufti Mohd Sayeed’s direct supervision as the Home Minister of India.
“However, on the other hand, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on the floor of the Assembly had said that his heart bled for the death of our youth and said that such incidents were akin to his heart being broken into pieces and that he understood the pain and agony of the people of Kashmir,” Beg said.
