Mega Passport Mela at Jammu on Nov 3

JAMMU, Oct 29: Regional Passport Office (RPO) Jammu is going to organize a special mega Passport Mela in Passport Office Jammu for applicants of Haj pilgrimage and PCC for youths seeking employment abroad on November 3 (Saturday).
Intimating this, N K Shill, RPO Jammu told that appointments for the special Mela have already been released. “As many as 290 applications would be processed during the special Mela”, he said, adding, applicants who are desirous to avail this golden opportunity, are required to submit the Passport Application Form online for ‘Fresh/Re-issue of passport under normal category and book prior appointment before visiting Passport Seva Kendra Jammu.
Shill informed that applicants may log on to the passport India website www.passportindia.gov.in to fill and submit the application form online, make payment of passport fee online through debit/credit card or internet banking of state bank of India (as mentioned on the website).
The Mela is to be conducted between 9 am to 4.30 pm on November 3 at Passport Seva Kendra, Jammu, to process applications of local and outstation applicants only the ‘normal’ or ‘re-issue’ category”. Appointments for the Passport Mela would be allotted by the system on first come first serve basis as per availability.
“Applicants who have booked appointments for the day are required to visit the Passport office in person for application processing, biometrics (finger prints etc), capturing of photographs. On the appointment date/time, the applicants along with ARN (Appointment Reference No.) and original documents (photocopies thereof) must visit the Passport Seva Kendra at Jammu for processing their Passport applications,” the Passport officer said.
Further, he said for more details pertaining to passport services, passport India website www.passportindia.gov.in may be accessed or calls can be made to the national call centre toll free number (1800-258-1800).
Shill said that this mega Mela also aims to give special emphasis to facilitate the applicants falling under category of HajjUmrah, senior citizen, minor, disabled, illiterate, young students/job seekers and family persons intending to have their case processed at a single time.
