RAJOURI, Feb 24: A Medical-cum-certificate distribution camp was organized at village Gabbar in Budhal tehsil by Health Department of Block Kandi under the supervision of Dr Sunil Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, Rajouri.
A team of doctors, Dr Ghulam Qader, Dr Yasser, Dr Farooq Tantary, Dr Jabeen Qumer and Mohd Latief Dar, CHO, Masood Ahmed and others Paramedics provided free consultations to people during the camp. Tests like BP, blood sugar, Blood Grouping, LFT, HB, Lipid profile etc. were offered free of cost in the camp.
Dr Iqbal Malik, Block Medical Officer, organizer of the camp said that they have been continuously organizing such camps under the Public Service Grantee Act, since the last two years to provide the basic health services to the public at their doorstep in far-flung areas.
CMO Rajouri, Dr Sunil said about 223 patients with various diseases were examined and treated and free medicines were provided to many. 211 certificates issued on the spot which includes old age, Medical fitness and disability besides. Awareness regarding sanitation, save girl child, the benefit of institution delivery, detail of Health schemes etc was imparted to the public.
Prominent social worker and Sarpanch of the area Shamim Akhter, Rashid Hussain, Mohd Afzar, Mohd Raiz, Mohd Shabir, Jabeen Akhter and Farida Akhter -Panchs of the area told that people of this remote area have no sufficient Medicare facilities. Such camps will help them to get better facilities at their doorstep.
