JAMMU, Aug 1: A medical shop at Badila, Badyal Brahmana area in RS Pura was sealed by Jammu and Kashmir Police for illegally possessing habit-forming drugs in violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
A police official said acting on a tip-off received over the phone, a team from Police Station RS Pura led by SHO Inspector R S Parihar, along with the Executive Magistrate and Drug Inspector, intercepted a suspicious consignment.
During the inspection, he said, the team recovered 274 capsules of Pregabalin-300 mg from a private medical store.
“The drugs were found without any bills or vouchers,” he said.
Following the recovery, the shop was sealed under Section 22(1)(d) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 for unauthorized possession and sale of the controlled drug, added the police official.
