POONCH, Dec 11: District Police Poonch, in coordination with the Drug Control Department, today took prompt action after receiving reliable information regarding the illegal sale of restricted drugs at New Sudan Medicose, in Ward No. 1, Sukha Katha in the town here.
Acting on the inputs, a joint team of Police Station Poonch and the Drug Inspector conducted a search of the premises, during which Pregabalin capsules, a restricted drug, were recovered.
Following the seizure, the operation of the shop has been disallowed under Section 22 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and the license of the Pharmacist, Iqbal Singh, son of Hardev Singh, resident of Ward No. 1 Sukha Katha, has been suspended. The shop was subsequently sealed on the spot by the Drug Inspector in the presence of police.
