REASI, May 4: In a swift and coordinated action, District Police Reasi sealed a medical shop at Dharmari for violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, following the recovery of a large quantity of habit-forming drugs.
A telephonic message alerted police about a suspected consignment carrying habit-forming drugs and cosmetics. Acting promptly on the information, a police party led by SHO Arnas, Inspector Sumit Sharma along with the Naib Tehsildar Thuroo and Drug Inspector, intercepted the consignment.
Upon inspection, the team recovered Pregsco-300 (10×150 strips) from the possession of M/s Mushtaq Medical Hall, Dharmari. The recovered medicines were found to be without any supporting bills or vouchers, indicating a clear violation of the law.
In light of the findings, the said medical shop was sealed under Section 22(d) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940 for the unauthorized sale and possession of habit-forming drugs.
