Medical shop sealed

JAMMU, May 4: A medical shop in Naugran area of Bishnah was sealed by Jammu and Kashmir Police after a consignment of illegal drugs was recovered during a joint inspection.
A police official said that acting on a telephonic alert, a team of police led by SHO concerned and Drug Inspector of the area raided the premises of M/s Gupta Medical Hall and intercepted the suspicious consignment.
During the search, he said, the team recovered Pregsco-300 (10×08 strips) from the shop, which was being stored without any valid purchase records or bills. The drug is classified as a habit-forming substance and requires strict documentation under the law.
As the shop was found in violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, particularly under Section 22(d), it was immediately sealed for unauthorized possession and sale of restricted medicines, the police official said.
Meanwhile, further investigation has been set into motion.
