JAMMU, Feb 13: Police recovered huge quantity of intoxicants and arrested a medical shop owner and his associate in holy town Katra.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Katra police station conducted a raid at Suraj Krishni medical shop near Charanpaduka, enroute Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
During checking, police recovered 4900 intoxicants and arrested owner of the shop identified as Sukhdev Singh, son of Rattan Singh of Aggarjitto, district Reasi and his associate Pawan Kumar, son of Rattan Chand of Kotli-Bagha, district Reasi.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Katra police station and investigation started.
Police party led by SHO Sanjeev Gupta made the arrest under the supervision of SP Katra Mohan Lal.
