JAMMU, Mar 25: Minister for State Technical Education, Power and Information, Vikar Rasool today informed the House that Government is considering enhancement in Medical Allowance for former legislators from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 and revision in their pension.
The Minister was replying to the resolution moved by Ghulam Nabi Monga seeking revision in the pension of former Legislators be made effective from the date such increase was made in the salary of sitting Legislators with an increase in their Medical Allowance.
The resolution was seconded by Ali Mohammad Dar. Sheikh Ghulam Rasool and Devender Singh Rana also took part in the discussion on the Private members Resolution, while all others supported.
Later, the Resolution was withdrawn by the member after the reply from the minister, who assured to increase Pension and Medical Allowance of the former legislators.
