Media XI registers 6 wkts win over ADGP-XI

JAMMU, Aug 1: A magnificent 81 runs off just 60 balls by Chander Mohan Pandita guided Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu to script an impressive six wickets victory over ADGP Jammu- XI in a friendly T-20 Cricket match, played at K C Sports Stadium, here today.
The event aimed to build a friendly working atmosphere amongst two major stakeholders in peace building witnessed a nail biting contest as ADGP XI led by ADGP Jammu Mukesh Singh (IPS) along with SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli (IPS), APP Rajesh Gill, SDPO Akhnoor DySP Varun Jandyal (KPS) and other officers of J&K Police showed some exciting sporting skills.
Earlier, the skipper ADGP Mukesh Singh won the toss and elected to bat first and posted a challenging 141 runs target on the scoreboard by losing eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
ADGP-XI had a lurid start of their innings as they suffered early blows and the team was reeling at 25/3 after the batting power play courtesy some disciplined bowling by Media XI’s Sachin Jamwal & Yash Khajuria. Anil Choudhary made 67 runs off 44 balls and Rajesh Gill scored 22 runs off 19 balls. From bowling side, Yash Khajuria clinched two wickets whereas Sachin Jamwal, Vivek Suri, Rahul Khatri and Shubham shared wicket apiece.
In reply, Media XI led by Vivek Suri had a sluggish start as they lost early wickets in Amit Kumar (11 runs off 13 balls) and Sunil Bali (5 runs off 14 balls). Chander Mohan Pandita’s highest 81 runs off 60 balls and Faheem Tak’s 27 runs off 25 balls helped Media-XI to register emphatic win over the ADGP-XI. ADGP Mukesh Singh (2/16) remained the pick of the bowlers from ADGP XI while Farooq also took two wickets.
Chander Mohan Pandita from Media XI was adjudged as Man of the Match while Mukesh Singh (IPS) from ADGP XI was declared as the best bowler.
