JAMMU, Dec 9: The Mumbai Dogra Samaj Trust (MDST) today affirmed its full support to the Dogra Legacy Award 2025.
The announcement in this regard was made by Prof Kulbhushan Mohtra, Managing Trustee of Parmeshwari Care and Cure Charitable Trust (PCCCT), during a meeting held here today.
The meeting was attended by Krishan Pandit, president MDST and Nidhi Dogra.
Dr Romesh Khajuria, Trustee (PCCCT) and Coordinator of the event said, “It is high time to unite and work for the Dogra identity, languages and glorious history. A society that knows its roots can survive, and Dogras are doing well, but we need to recognise, acknowledge and unite them.”
“The situation for Dogras is alarming, the younger generation either hesitates to speak Dogri or does not know it, and Dogri has no space in government offices. Even when we have Dogra officers, Dogri is sidelined. Since 2003 we have struggled to secure a place for our language. We must work hard to build confidence among the youth to speak Dogri, promote awareness of our heritage and provide platforms for Dogra fellows. Only by joining hands can we save our identity,” he added.
Among other who attended the meeting included Pawan Vivek, Coordinator of Bharat Bharati (Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat), S K Sharma, Ravi Bakshi, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Vijay Mohtra, C S Kattal, Rajinder Kakar, Ravi Sharma, Sanjeev Vaid, Mookerji Sharma and Pardeep Sharma.
