JAMMU, Aug 4: A management development programme on Leadership in Panchayats for Effective and Accelerated Rural Transformation (Lead-ART) organised at School of Business Studies, Central University of Jammu, (SBS, CUJ) concluded here today.
The programme was organised by SBS, CUJ in collaboration with the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Government of J&K under the Patronage of Prof. Sanjeev Jain, Vice Chancellor, Central University.
During the valedictory session feedback was sought wherein participants expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the insightful sessions and the opportunity to enhance their leadership capabilities. Abhishek Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Samba addressed the gathering in virtual mode.
The programme was inaugurated in presence of Sham Lal, Director, Panchayati Raj, Government of J&K, Prof. Yashwant Singh, Registrar, Central University of Jammu, Sheetal Pandita, Deputy Secretary, Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Government of J&K and Kiran Jyoti, Consultant.
The event witnessed participation of distinguished dignitaries included Prof Anil Gupta, IIM-Ahmedabad, B. R Sharma, Former Chief Secretary of J&K, Pramod Kumar Jain, Former J&K State Water Resources Regulatory Authority, Prof. Ashok Aima, Former Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Sridhar Bhallamudi, CGM-NABARD, Shakeel Ganie, Dy. Commissioner of Income Tax, Srinagar Waseem Raja, Additional Secretary to the Government. Department of RD & PR, Ratan Ranjan, SDGCC Public Policy Analyst-cum-State Head SDG Coordination Centre Planning Development & Monitoring Department, Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Assistant Professor, SBS and Dr. Asif Ali, Assistant Professor, SBS.
The first batch of 30 participants included DDC Chairpersons, Members and BDOs of RD & PR and were trained in various modules on Leadership and Teamwork, Financial Management and Panchayat Finances, Effective Communication, Project Management and Monitoring, Digital Transformation, ICT, Creativity and Innovation for Village Development, to equip them with requisite skills to usher in a new era of grassroots governance.
Earlier Prof. Jaya Bhasin welcomed the gathering for valedictory session and briefed about the activities conducted during these three days and Dr. Neelika Arora proposed formal vote of thanks.
Rashmi Srivastava conducted the proceeding of the programme and Riya Gandotra coordinated certificate distribution.
