SRINAGAR, July 1: The Managing Director (MD), J&K SIDCO, accompanied by the officials and representatives from contracting agencies visited the NIFT Permanent Campus at Ompora, Budgam.
During the visit, the concerned executive engineer briefed the MD regarding the key highlights and progress of the project.
The assistant director, NIFT, was also present during the visit.
The MD directed the assistant director, NIFT, to formally take over all the structures currently under possession and use by NIFT since August 2022.
Further, the executing agencies were instructed to ensure the completion of balance works under Package 3rd within the stipulated timeframe, as per the allotment and NIT conditions.
The assistant director assured the MD that the formal takeover of the buildings would be carried out at the earliest, keeping in view the upcoming inauguration of the NIFT campus.
Earlier, the MD also visited the under-construction Medicity project at Rakhe Gund Aksha, Bemina, to review the ongoing developmental works and assess the overall progress of the project.
During the inspection, the executive engineer, Construction Division 1st briefed the MD about the progress achieved so far against the sanctioned project cost of Rs 3936 lakhs.
It was informed that nearly 70% of the project work has been completed, including key infrastructure components.
The MD took cognisance of the works related to internal roads, drainage systems, administrative block, Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP), Overhead Tank (OHT) and other allied infrastructure.
The MD was emphasised about the project and about the works which have been completed and which are to be completed, especially those related to basic amenities.
He expressed satisfaction over the progress but emphasized the need for strict adherence to timelines, directing the concerned executive engineer and contracting agencies to ensure timely completion of the project without compromising the quality.
