MC Samba recovers Rs 7,700 fine from shopkeepers

SAMBA, Oct 20: To ensure supply of fresh commodities to the people in the festive season, Municipal Committee Samba along with concerned Department launched a campaign to check adulteration and sale of outdated commodities and removed illegal encroachment from the market. Fine amounting Rs 7,000 has also been imposed on at least 2 dozen shopkeepers who were found guilty in this regard.
The officials of Municipal Committee Department squad led by Executive Officer Pritam Chand today checked shops in Chowhata Bazaar, Link Road, National Highway and border road locality and recovered Rs 7,700 fine.
“We will not allow anybody adulteration of the essential commodities and those found involved will be dealt with iron hands”, said Pritam Chand adding that the campaign will continue till Diwali.
