Maulana Azad an architect of education system: Mir

SRINAGAR, Nov 12: The Congress leaders and activists paid rich tributes to freedom fighter and top Congress leader Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on his birth anniversary today.
While paying tributes the PCC president G A Mir said that people of the country shall always remember the contributions of Maulana Azad in securing freedom and his fight for prestige of the Nation. The struggle of Maulana about Nation building shall always remain inspiring for us and the generations ahead, he said.
Mir further said that the services rendered by Maulana towards strengthening the people shall always lead us to the path of togetherness, unity and development.
PCC president  said that Maulana being the first Education Minister of  independent India,  gave new directions to the Education system and the then Prime Minister Pt Jawharlal Nehru was all praise for Maulana for his vision and the policies formulated by him in the Education sector. Maulana was an architect of education system in India, Mir said.   Maulana was a great journalist, writer and inspiring scholar, who played a pivotal role as journalist and freedom fighter during Freedom Movement. He was a representative of the people of India in a true sense and never compromised on anything.
Describing Maulana as great intellectual, PCC chief said Maulana Azad was an inspiring political and social figure of India, who always worked about equitable development of all sections of the country.
The best way to pay homage to Maulana Azad is to remain steadfast in serving the people and development of down trodden sections of Society, PCC chief added.
