JAMMU, July 29: A parked matador was mysteriously gutted in fire late Monday night in the Tallab Tillo area of Jammu, prompting police to launch an investigation into the incident.
The passenger vehicle, bearing registration number JK02AT 7232 and owned by Harvinder Singh of Tallab Tillo, was parked near Priyadarshani Lane close to the State Bank of India (SBI) branch when it suddenly caught fire around 10:35 PM, officials said.
Following the alert, they said, fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames after strenuous efforts.
However, the vehicle was completely destroyed in the blaze, they said.
Meanwhile, acting on the complaint of the owner, police have registered a case under relevant sections at the concerned police station and initiated further investigation to ascertain the cause of fire.
