Massive fire near Bei Nala Bridge halts train traffic

SAMBA, Dec 4: A massive fire broke out near the Bei Nala Bridge close to Ghagwal railway station, triggering panic among locals and briefly halting train movement on Thursday evening.
According to officials, the fire erupted right beside the railway track and, fueled by strong winds and dry bushes, rapidly engulfed the surrounding area.
As the flames intensified, people present at the spot immediately alerted the GRP and railway authorities, fearing a major accident. Acting swiftly, the GRP and railway officials halted train traffic as a precaution.
An approaching DMU train was stopped for nearly 15 minutes until the situation was assessed and brought under control.
Dense smoke had spread across the entire area during the incident, but no injuries or major damage were reported.
After thorough checks, authorities confirmed that the situation had returned to normal.
Locals and officials lauded the quick and courageous response of the GRP team, which played a crucial role in averting a potential disaster.
