Masoodi reviews ongoing developmental activities

SRINAGAR, Sept 11: National Conference (NC) MP from Anantnag Justice Hasnain Masoodi (Retd) today convened a meeting of district administration at DC Office Shopian to review the ongoing developmental activities in the district.
During the meeting, the District Commissioner Choudhary Muhammad Yasin gave sector wise overview of the undergoing development activities in the district. District heads of various administrative departments also acquainted the Member of Parliament (MP) about the developmental activities underway in the district. The MP was also informed about the array of efforts undertaken by the district administration towards combating the COVID-19 crisis.
While interacting with the concerned heads of departments, Masoodi asked them to give a flip to the development activities in the district in view of the approaching winter months. He also asked the administration to remain alive to the problems, the people of the district are facing. He also impressed upon the concerned PHE, PDD, and other departments to augment their infrastructure in order to ensure basic and effective amenities to all.
He raised the issue of frequent power cuts, shortage of water and ramshackled roads and alleys with the concerned authorities asking them to expedite the up gradation and restoration activities in the district. The MP also sought detailed overview of the implementation of various central schemes in the district and asked the concerned officials to ensure cent percent transparency in it in order to make sure that the benefit of the schemes reaches to eligible beneficiaries.
Masoodi also sought improvisation of the response of the district administration to weather vagaries and calamities on modern lines. He impressed upon the district administration to start preparing for the forthcoming winter months. He also underscored the need of having a buffer stock of power transformers and establishment of a repairing workshop for it as well in the district to meet the local demands during winter months.
The MP also discussed issues concerning agriculture and horticulture with the officials, underscoring the importance of investing in the processing sector and other allied secondary and tertiary agriculture activities.
