JAMMU, Jan 15: Despite lapse of 15 months after the martyrdom of Sub Inspector Imran Tak of Basantgarh, who laid down his life while fighting armed insurgency in Kashmir in November 2017, it was most deplorable that the State Govt had failed to fulfil its obligations towards the family of the brave heart.
It was stated by former minister and NPP chairman Harshdev Singh while talking to reporters here today. He regretted that not only were the dues of the valiant soldier’s family unpaid till date but the SRO-43 case of the family had also been kept pending for the last more than one year leading to untold hardships for the family.
He said while hundreds of non- eligible cases had been cleared under SRO-43 in the guise of relaxation of rules, the most genuine and deserving cases were being delayed and denied even in Governor’s Rule, Singh said .
Strongly admonishing the State Govt for being abominably callous towards the State martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the motherland, Singh urged upon the Governor to settle all claims and dues of all families of martyrs, who made the supreme sacrifices for the nation and its flag. He regretted that while the erstwhile PDP-BJP Govt lavishly doled incentives and jobs to the surrendered militants, dependants of deceased anti- nationals and subversives in the Valley, the NOKs of the slain soldiers received the most contemptuous and abominable treatment at the hands of the rulers.
He called for immediate honouring the assurance given by the Govt at the relevant point of time for gallantry award in favour of the martyred soldier Imran Tak. He also called for immediate settlement of SRO-43 case of Muzzaffar Tak, the brother of Imran Tak whose file was made to shuttle form one office to the other during the past one year causing huge embarrassment and humiliation to the bereaved family.
