JAMMU, June 1: A married woman ended her life by hanging herself at her in-laws’ residence in Arnia area here today.
Around 10:45 AM, Reeta Devi (30) wife of Sunil Kumar of Karyal Khurd village was found hanging with the ceiling fan at her in-laws’ residence, a police official said.
After getting information, police shifted the body of the deceased woman to a hospital in Bishnah area, where the post-mortem examination was performed and later the body was handed over to her legal heirs for conducting her last rites, he said.
Meanwhile, police in Arnia area have initiated inquest proceedings under section 194 of the BNS to further investigate into the matter.
