JAMMU, Dec 3: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader and member, State Advisory Board for Gujjars and Bakerwals, Abdul Hamid Choudhary today said that State Marriage Assistance and Hunnar Schemes will maintain the dignity of poor families and provide an opportunity to girls to live an honourable life.
Hailing the decision of State Cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that accorded sanction to State Marriage Assistance and Hunnar Schemes, Hamid Choudhary said various poor families who were unable to marry their daughters because of financial constraints will now get Rs 25,000 as financial assistance and 5 gm of gold. This, he said will maintain the dignity of poor families and provide an opportunity to girls to live an honourable life.
Similarly the “Hunnar” scheme, the PDP leader said, will enable poor girls to undergo skill development programmes duly sponsored by the Government which will help them earn their livelihood honourably.
