Marg Darshan corner stone for rehabilitation of Pandits: PK

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 17: The Panun Kashmir (PK) has taken serious exception the statements issued by certain Kashmir centric political parties with regard to the surveillance campaign undertaken by the Government.
The PK ,which met here, today under the leadership of its general secretary (Org), Kamal Bhagati said such statements are issued while ignoring the role of mosques in the ethnic cleansing of the Pandits from Kashmir. Had this exercise been done by the Government during 1980s, the genocide of the Hindus from Kashmir wouldn’t have happened.
The meeting welcomed the administrative efforts of the Government of India and also appealed it to seriously think about opening a formal dialogue with the Kashmiri Pandit community. It reiterated the demand of Homeland for the displaced Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley of Kashmir with the Union Territory status.
The meeting was held in connection with the 37th ‘Kashmiri Pandit Holocaust Day’,. It was also attended by H.L.Jalali, J.L.Kaul, P.K.Bhan, K.K.Kaul, Ashok Chrungoo, V.K.Mattoo, Sameer Bhat and Vikram Singh. The senior BJP & KP leader Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo attended the session as a special guest speaker.
The meeting discussed the current socio-political scenario of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community and reiterated the resolve of the community to keep the torch of the struggle for existence burning till the goal was achieved. It maintained that the Kashmiri Pandit community was committed to the resolve that it won’t forget or forgive what was done to it in the Kashmir Valley right from 1986 by the radical elements. The genocide of the community has a background in which the radicalized forces in Kashmir played a devastating role and threatened the minorities with the open slogans.
The meeting said though there is no doubt that the Government of India implemented a large part of the operative part of the historic Marg Darshan resolution on August 5 in 2019, the original question of resettlement of KPs in Valley remains.
It reiterated carving out separate homeland is only solution for their permanent settlement in Kashmir and Marg Darshan resolution of 1991.
