SAMBA, Nov 22 : To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, My Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India in collaboration with the district administration Samba, Sardar@150 unity march – district level Padyatra in Ramgarh constituency of Samba district was organised today.
The Padyatra commenced from the historic Bamu Chak Temple at Daug village, Ramgarh, a revered 200-year-old landmark. The unity march was flagged off by MLA Ramgarh, Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, who appreciated the initiative for strengthening community spirit and promoting national integration.
The event was graced by Ayushi Soodan, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Chitterpal, DIG BSF, S Narayan Prakash, Commandant 101 BN BSF, Champa Devi, ADDC Samba, Jagdish Singh, ADC Samba, and other district officers. They joined the participants and encouraged the youth to uphold the values of unity, discipline, and patriotism.
More than 1000 participants, including officials, youth, students, community members, and local residents, enthusiastically took part in the Padyatra. Slogans promoting national unity echoed throughout the route and participants carried the National Flags symbolising togetherness, pride and the spirit of harmony.
The Padyatra concluded at Baba Chamliyal, located at the Zero Line on the Indo-Pak Border, marking a symbolic culmination of unity and national pride at this iconic site.
Students presented patriotic cultural performances, including songs and dances, adding vibrancy to the event and celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage.
To promote the spirit of Swadeshi and local entrepreneurship, stalls by the Handloom and Handicrafts Department were set up, attracting active engagement from participants and visitors.
At the conclusion of the unity march, all participants collectively took the Atmanirbhar Bharat, Unity, and Nasha Mukt Bharat pledges, reaffirming their commitment to building a progressive, united, and drug-free society.
Sushil Singh Charak expressed gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, officials, volunteers, and participants for making the Padyatra a grand success. Anmol Bajaj APA MY Bharat played an important role in the overall coordination. Mohinderpal Bika, district convener of the Padyatra, was also present during the event. In the end, the participants hailed the efforts of MY Bharat in promoting national unity and Integrity through initiatives like unity march.
