JAMMU, Aug 24: After heavy rainfall, the teams of State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) here today successfully accomplished many rescue operations.
SDRF personnel under the supervision of Danesh Gupta, DSP rescued about 45 students trapped in IIIM Hostel using inflatable boats and life saving jackets.
A handout stated that SDRF teams also rescued numerous people trapped in waterlogged areas, including homes, roads and at other places in and around Jammu city.
These teams have been deployed in various areas of Jammu like Tawi River at different locations and in Talab Tillo, Lower Bakshi Nagar etc.
It further stated that these teams have also been working in coordination with local authorities including district administration, police and other agencies. Zahid Manhas, SSP, Commandant SDRF IInd Bn Jammu told reporters that SDRF teams are committed to support those affected by the heavy rains.
“We are working tirelessly to ensure safety of the people in the affected areas,” he maintained.
Equipped with specialized equipments and trained personnel, the SDRF teams have been working tirelessly to rescue stranded people in the affected areas.
